Multisport race

Multisport race is the headliner event of East Gippsland Adventure Challenge

In short:

What: Classic multisport race, the course is fully marked, no navigation is required. MTB 31 km, run 16 km, paddle 15 km

When: 2nd of December 2017

Where: Lakes Entrance, East Gippsland

Who: open for individuals, relay teams, AR Duo teams (team of two, when both participants stay together for the entire course and kayaking equipment is supplied).

Fully marked, spectacular course consisted of 31 km mountain bike, 16 km trail running and 15 km paddling is prepared to challenge SOLO, relay and AR Duo teams (kayaking eqipment is supplied, both team members stay together for the entire event). No navigation but sense of adventure is required for competing in this event. Prepare your off - road shoes, reasonably stable boats and a mountain bike, cyclecross can get your though but would not be any fun on single tracks. 


Mountain bike leg

The race will start with mountain bike leg on street of Lake Entrance, first few hundred meters of non-competitive riding behind the officials car followed by start horn, when the race begins. Sealed road goes straight uphill, and after a few kilometers you will find youself on paths less known. Combination of 4WD tracks and singletracks will bring you to the Colquhoun State forest to dedicated mountain bike park, where some sweet singletracks will let technical guru to gain some time. Transition area not far and it is time to stretch your legs running off-roads trails and hidden paths back to the start.

Trail running leg

Trail running leg pathes will lead yo back to the start, run on singletracks to cross unsealed road and follow the Discovery trail toward Lakes Entrance. You will turn off Discovery trail to spent a couple of kilometers in wild bush, steep gullies and narrow single tracks, until you get out to cross the sealed road you've mountain biked. Sneaky path will lead you along the road back down to Transition Area. Just before transition area you will run along the Nothern arm beach toturn into the oval and get to your kayaks.

Kayaking leg

Kayaking leg loop begins not far from the race HQ and consists of loop around Rigbys island. You will have to navigate your craft across the Entrance, which will be flowing fast. No worries, Lifesavers will be patrolling their IRB there to help you if required. It is spectacular loop, which may be run both clockwise and anticlockwise, depending on current tide. The final run around oval which relay teams do all together and time to enjoy post finish glory!
